Position Summary The Logistics & Dispatch Shift Manager (PM Shift) leads all logistics and dispatch operation for a team of more than 300 team members to include dispatchers, supervisors, coordinators, drivers, and install crew members, and a fleet of more than 100 trucks. This role makes sure every truck leaves the yard on time, correctly loaded, and fully staffed, and owns the execution of the day’s delivery and installation plan from driver check-in through midday route completion. The PM Shift Manager directs dispatch leadership, drivers, and crews in real time, resolves morning service issues, and hands off a clear status report to the AM shift at shift change. The role is accountable for on-time departures and arrivals, fleet utilization, DOT and California labor compliance, and safety across all morning routes. Reporting to Operations of Logistic and Dispatch to ensure team culture, compliance, safety and client expectations are met. Responsibilities As PM Shift Manager you will ensure all operations on PM shift is ran to expectation from all aspects of safety, compliance, training and building on team culture. the dispatch operation each morning and confirm drivers, crews, and 100+ trucks are ready for scheduled departures. Oversee driver check-in, pre-trip vehicle inspections, and DVIR completion before trucks leave the yard. Partner with the Warehouse and Lead Loaders to confirm load-outs are complete and accurate before departure. Monitor morning deliveries, installations, and on-site setups in real time through GPS and fleet tools (such as Samsara). Make immediate decisions on late trucks, traffic, vehicle breakdowns, call-outs, and same-day client changes. Reassign drivers, trucks, and crews as needed to protect on-time arrival and event start times. Maximize fleet utilization across the 100+ truck fleet while meeting delivery windows. Oversee operations on PM shift leadership to ensure consistent coverage, smooth shift handoffs, and team compliance with company policies, DOT rules, and California labor requirements. Review the next-day plan prepared by the PM shift and flag staffing or equipment concerns early. Compliance and Safety Ensure compliance with DOT and FMCSA rules, including hours of service, driver qualification, and vehicle inspection requirements. Ensure every driver completes daily duties, including paperwork, Hours of Service compliance, and pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Ensure morning drivers and crews receive California-compliant meal and rest breaks and that time records are accurate. Report vehicle defects to Fleet and keep unsafe vehicles out of service. Maintain a culture of safety and ensure each driver is up to date on all monthly safety training. Enforce the company safety program, including PPE use, safe driving, safe lifting, and job-site practices. Investigate morning accidents, incidents, and near misses, and put corrective actions in place. Encourage team members to report injuries, hazards, and near misses right away. Qualifications and Preferred Requirements 5+ years of dispatch, logistics, or transportation experience, including at least 2 years supervising a team. Experience running same-day, multi-truck delivery operations under tight time windows. Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations and California meal and rest break rules.
