Job Summary: As a Logistics Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the movement of freight containers and shipments across various transportation modes to ensure timely delivery and optimal efficiency. You will work closely with drivers, carriers, and logistics personnel to schedule pickups and deliveries, track shipments, and resolve any issues that may arise during transit. Daily Operations Schedule outbound shipments, select and vet carriers, optimize delivery routes, and negotiate freight rates. Manages the critical first step of the supply chain by accurately inputting, processing, dispatching orders to carriers. Monitor active shipments in real time to verify they stay on schedule. Troubleshoot pick up delays, equipment issues. Transportation Management Systems (TMS): Used to plan, execute, and optimize the physical movement of shipments. Manage shipments moving to/from the US and Canada, and file essential customs, transport, and commercial documentation to ensure regulatory compliance with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status, route changes, and delivery. Communicate with customers to confirm pickup and delivery times, address any concerns, and provide exceptional customer service. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in logistics or transportation management is a plus. Proven experience in freight logistics or in a similar role, preferably in the intermodal transportation industry. Strong knowledge of transportation operations, routing, and logistics. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with drivers, carriers, and customers. Proficiency in using transportation management software (TMS) and other relevant platforms including Excel. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the transportation industry.
