Position Overview The Logistics Analyst supports transportation operations across small parcel, Less-Than-Truckload (LTL), Full Truckload (FTL), and international ocean freight by monitoring shipment activity, analyzing carrier performance and costs, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery performance. This role works closely with carriers, freight forwarders, and the company’s third-party logistics transportation provider (3PL), supporting shipment execution, issue resolution, vendor compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Primary responsibilities are assigned by transportation mode based on business needs. Assignments may change over time, and analysts are expected to cross-train and support one another across all modes. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and experienced in small parcel and/or freight transportation operations, carrier management, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS). This individual will play a key role in driving transportation efficiency, service performance, and cost optimization across the company’s logistics network. This position is based on site in Gardner, KS and requires in-office attendance five days per week. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day small parcel shipping operations by monitoring carrier performance, transit times, and delivery exceptions to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery while communicating shipment updates to internal stakeholders. Analyze parcel shipping data, carrier invoices, and accessorial charges to identify cost savings, billing errors, and service-level optimization opportunities. Manage parcel claims for lost or damaged packages and coordinate resolution of parcel delivery exceptions with carriers, warehouse teams, and Customer Service. Tender and manage LTL and FTL loads through MercuryGate TMS, selecting carriers based on cost, service performance, transit requirements, and customer needs. Monitor inbound ocean freight shipments to ensure timely milestone updates, shipment visibility, documentation accuracy, and delivery performance. Escalate and support resolution of transportation issues, parcel and freight claims, OS&D, delays, and delivery exceptions by coordinating with carriers, vendors, warehouses, Customer Service, and internal teams. Develop strong working relationships with parcel and freight carriers, brokers, freight forwarders, vendors, and logistics partners to improve transportation execution and service performance. Train internal associates and vendors on TMS processes, routing guides, and parcel and freight shipping requirements while monitoring compliance with transportation standards. Analyze transportation data across all modes to identify cost savings, mode optimization opportunities and process improvements. Cross-train on and support all transportation modes, adjusting primary responsibilities as business needs change. Experience & Qualifications 3–5 years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or freight operations, including small parcel and/or freight (LTL, FTL, or ocean) operations and experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as MercuryGate or similar platforms.
