Our logistics team helps branches across the United States, Canada, and Mexico move customer orders efficiently, accurately, and cost-effectively. We are seeking a Logistics Analyst to join Crown Packaging Corp. in St. Louis, Missouri. Reporting to the Logistics Manager, this role provides transportation and shipping support to the corporate office and branch locations, coordinates with carriers and brokers, audits freight charges, supports domestic and international documentation, and maintains accurate logistics information. About the Role The Logistics Analyst supports efficient transportation operations by sourcing and negotiating freight rates, selecting appropriate shipping methods, tracking shipments, resolving freight-billing discrepancies, and helping branches navigate routine and specialized shipping needs. This role is well suited for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate communicates professionally, works independently and collaboratively, demonstrates sound judgment, and follows issues through to resolution. What You’ll Do Key Responsibilities Negotiate rate quotes for truckload, expedited, and other specialty shipments Partner with carriers and brokers to determine the most efficient shipping method using available transportation modes Track shipments and provide timely updates to internal stakeholders Audit freight bills, research charge discrepancies, and make necessary system corrections Determine the source of freight-billing errors and the appropriate party responsible for additional charges Support logistics needs for the corporate office and branch locations throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico Shipping Documentation, Carriers & Claims Prepare shipping documents for domestic and international shipments, including commercial invoices and certificates of origin Qualify and set up new carriers in accordance with company requirements Evaluate carrier performance based on service, reliability, and cost File freight claims for lost or damaged shipments and gather the documentation needed to pursue full reimbursement Maintain accurate and current logistics records and databases Conform to applicable Quality Management System requirements Perform additional duties as assigned Collaboration & Professional Support Respond to voicemail and email promptly and professionally Maintain dependable attendance and reliable follow-through Communicate clearly with carriers, brokers, branch teams, and other departments Address transportation and shipping issues quickly and professionally Work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team Maintain a positive, helpful approach and assist others when needed Demonstrate a high level of integrity and work ethic Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred Two to four years of shipping or logistics experience in a distribution environment preferred Working knowledge of domestic freight, transportation modes, carriers, and brokers Experience with international shipping documentation, freight billing, or claims preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as a team member Professional judgment, integrity, and a strong work ethic Onboarding & Development New hires receive onboarding and role-specific training to help them understand company policies, logistics processes, transportation systems, carrier relationships, freight-bil…
