We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistician/Driver to join our team in Norfolk, VA . The Logistician/Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of materials, tools, equipment, parts, and personnel in support of maritime ship repair and shipyard operations. This position will coordinate closely with logistics, production, procurement, warehouse, project management, and ship repair teams to ensure required resources are delivered to vessels, work areas, and supporting facilities when needed. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of safe driving practices, material handling, shipyard logistics, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment. Essential duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Safely operate company vehicles, trucks, vans, and other authorized transportation equipment. Transport ship repair materials, tools, parts, equipment, consumables, and supplies between warehouses, vendors, staging areas, and vessels. Deliver materials directly to assigned vessels, piers, dry docks, shops, and work areas. Support the movement of materials and equipment within the shipyard while following established traffic and safety procedures. Load, secure, transport, and unload materials in accordance with applicable safety requirements. Verify quantities, part numbers, delivery documentation, and receiving information prior to and after deliveries. Coordinate delivery schedules with Logistics, Warehouse, Production, and Project Management personnel. Pick up materials and parts from local vendors and suppliers as required. Maintain accurate delivery, mileage, inspection, and vehicle-use records. Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects or maintenance requirements. Ensure cargo is properly secured before transportation. Assist with material staging, warehouse activities, and general logistics support when driving assignments are not active. Follow all shipyard, vessel, company, OSHA, DOT, and applicable maritime safety requirements. Maintain a clean and professional work area and ensure assigned vehicles are kept clean and serviceable. Communicate delivery delays, damaged materials, discrepancies, or other logistics issues to the appropriate supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned in support of ship repair operations.
