Jake's Tree ServiceLog Truck Driver Jake's Tree Service Position Title: Log Truck Driver Job Summary Jake's Tree Service is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Log Truck Driver to transport logs, timber, brush, and other tree service materials to and from job sites, disposal facilities, mills, and designated locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to operate commercial vehicles safely in challenging environments. This position plays a key role in supporting the company's tree removal and land clearing operations while maintaining a commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Operate log trucks and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Transport logs, wood debris, and equipment between job sites and designated drop-off locations. Load, secure, and unload materials in accordance with company and DOT regulations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete all required vehicle reports. Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and delivery documentation. Ensure proper load securement and compliance with weight restrictions. Assist with loading and unloading operations when necessary. Perform routine maintenance checks and promptly report mechanical issues. Navigate rural, residential, and commercial job sites safely. Follow all company safety procedures and traffic laws. Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, and customers. Support field operations as needed when transportation duties are completed. Qualifications Valid CDL Class A driver's license required. Clean driving record preferred. Experience operating log trucks, dump trucks, or heavy commercial vehicles preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices. Ability to safely operate loading equipment, grapples, or cranes is a plus. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks when required. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle. Ability to climb in and out of trucks and equipment safely.
