Duties Safely operate a commercial tractor-trailer equipped with flatbeds on local delivery routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations. Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule integrity. Unload freight using a forklift system with care to prevent damage or accidents. Deliver freight directly to customer locations, ensuring accurate placement and secure loading/unloading procedures. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, trailer, and cargo to identify maintenance needs or safety issues. Experience Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving within local or regional areas. Familiarity with flatbed semis and forklifts Valid CDL A license required. Knowledge of manual transmission trucks and manual handling techniques for cargo management. Experience in delivery driving with a focus on safety, accuracy, and customer service excellence. Understanding of DOT regulations related to load securement, and vehicle maintenance standards. Ability to operate GPS navigation systems effectively and adapt to route changes as needed.
