Local Flatbed Driver

Job Overview McCreary Concrete is hiring an experienced CDL Class A Flatbed Driver (No Restrictions Preffered) to deliver precast concrete products to customers and job sites. This is a full-time, local driving position based in Tipton, Indiana. Drivers are home daily and typically work 8 to 10 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Start times vary based on the delivery schedule, and overtime may be required. Most weekends are free, although occasional weekend work may be necessary. We are looking for someone who currently drives, or has recent experience driving, a flatbed and knows how to secure loads safely. Previous boom-truck experience is not required. We are also looking for flatbed drivers who have interest in driving our boom trucks. Paid training to operate our boom trucks would also be provided! Compensation $26 to $31 per hour, based on experience and qualifications Overtime available and required based on business needs What We Offer Local routes with daily home time Full-time, year-round employment Most weekends free Overtime opportunities Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Paid holidays 401(k) Life insurance Disability insurance Paid training on company equipment Opportunities to learn specialized delivery equipment, including boom trucks Advancement opportunities within the company An established local company with approximately 80 years in business Primary Responsibilities Safely operate a commercial tractor and flatbed trailer Transport precast concrete products to customers and job sites Properly secure loads using the appropriate securement equipment and methods Inspect load securement before departure and during transportation as required Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Follow all applicable DOT regulations and company safety procedures Maintain accurate delivery, inspection, and vehicle documentation Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, dispatch, and coworkers Report equipment, maintenance, load, and safety concerns promptly Keep assigned equipment reasonably clean and organized Follow delivery instructions while adapting to changing job-site conditions Perform other delivery-related responsibilities as needed Required Qualifications Valid Class A commercial driver’s license Current DOT medical certification Current or recent flatbed driving experience Experience safely securing commercial flatbed loads Ability to operate an 80,000-pound commercial tractor-trailer combination Knowledge of required pre-trip and post-trip inspections Ability to comply with DOT regulations and company safety requirements Acceptable driving record under company and insurance requirements Dependable attendance and a strong commitment to safety Professional communication and customer-service skills Ability to work independently and follow delivery instructions Willingness to work overtime when required Ability to pass all applicable employment, DOT, and insurance requirements No specialized CDL endorsements are currently required for this position. Specialized Equipment Training Previous boom-truck experience is not required for this flatbed-driving position. McCreary Concrete operates specialized delivery equipment, including knuckle-boom and stick-boom trucks. Paid training on this equipment may be available based on company needs, the driver’s performance, and the driver’s interest in expanding their skills.
