Local Delivery Driver – Class 5 (Full-Time)

Job Summary JFT Food Distribution is a local food distribution company serving customers throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. We are seeking a dependable and professional Local Delivery Driver to join our team. This role involves safely transporting goods to customer locations throughout the local area, ensuring timely deliveries and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, warehouse operations, and strong communication skills. Duties Safely operate delivery vehicles on assigned local routes. Load and unload products using appropriate equipment when required. Ensure accurate deliveries by verifying order details and obtaining signatures when needed. Assist with moving heavier or bulky items using proper lifting techniques. Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the delivery vehicle and work area. Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues. Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures. Maintain accurate delivery records, mileage records, and report any incidents. Requirements Valid Class 5 driver’s licence. Previous delivery or commercial driving experience is preferred. Experience in warehouse operations, loading/unloading, or forklift operation is an asset. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to coordinate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers. Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods during shifts. Reliable transportation to reach the starting point of daily routes.
