Job Summary Join our dynamic team as a Local Commercial Driver with a Class A CDL license! In this vital role, you will operate tractor-trailers and various specialized trucks to deliver freight efficiently and safely within local routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your knowledge of logistics cargo handling and adherence to safety regulations, will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Duties Safely operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, roll-off trucks, and other commercial vehicles following DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations Plan and execute efficient delivery routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize time and fuel consumption Load and unload freight manually or with equipment such as forklifts, ensuring proper handling of hazardous materials and dangerous goods in compliance with hazardous materials regulations Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues Load, secure, and unload cargo accurately while adhering to safety protocols for manual handling and cargo safety standards Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle inspections in accordance with DOT regulations Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit Requirements Valid Class A CDL license with a clean driving record Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and freight delivery Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and familiarity with various truck types such as flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials handling, and safety standards for dangerous goods Ability to manually handle freight safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route planning and adjustments Excellent communication skills for coordination with dispatchers and customers Physical ability to lift heavy loads manually or with equipment as required for cargo handling Join us as a dedicated Local Commercial Driver where your expertise drives our success!
