Local Class A CDL Driver – Austin, TX & Surrounding Area Full-Time | Home Every Night | No OTR We are seeking an experienced CDL driver located in Austin, TX or the surrounding area for a full-time local driving position. The driver will primarily operate a dually pickup with a 40' trailer. Most work will be throughout the Austin, Houston, and San Antonio areas, with occasional trips to other parts of Texas. This is not an OTR position. You will be home every night. What You'll Be Driving Dually pickup 40' trailer Truck and trailer combination requiring an experienced driver Regular driving in cities, highways, jobsites, residential, and commercial locations Driver Requirements Valid Class A CDL required Current DOT medical card Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Must meet all applicable DOT driver requirements Must be able to pass required pre-employment and DOT drug/alcohol testing Must be dependable, punctual, and professional Must be comfortable driving and maneuvering a dually with a 40' trailer Must be confident backing into tight residential, commercial, and jobsite locations Must be able to safely hook and unhook trailers Must understand proper load securement Must perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections Must communicate professionally with customers and dispatch Must take care of assigned truck, trailer, tools, and equipment Must be able to work independently and make safe decisions in the field Physical Requirements This is a driving position, but drivers must be willing and able to perform the physical duties that come with the job, including: Lift and carry 50 lbs. Climb in and out of the truck and trailer Bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as necessary Hook and unhook trailers and equipment Secure loads and handle chains, straps, and other equipment Work outdoors in Texas heat, cold, rain, and other normal weather conditions Experience We Prefer Experience with any of the following is a plus: Dually pickups 40' trailers Gooseneck trailers Equipment hauling Tilt-bed or hydraulic trailers Construction or jobsite work Backing large trailers into tight locations Who We're Looking For We are looking for a career CDL driver, not an entry-level driver. The right person understands that this job involves more than highway driving. You must be comfortable maneuvering a long truck-and-trailer combination in tight locations, working around customers and jobsites, and handling the basic physical duties associated with the equipment. We want someone who takes pride in their truck and equipment, puts safety first, shows up on time, communicates well, and can be trusted to work independently.
