TGA Truck Driving SchoolOverview As a Local Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Instructor in Downey, California, you’ll help adult learners build the knowledge and practical skills to drive commercial vehicles safely. You’ll guide students through classroom lessons and behind-the-wheel instruction, making complex requirements clear and actionable. This is a paid position. Your impact: By teaching safe driving practices and regulations, you help students prepare for responsible commercial driving and support safer roads for everyone. Responsibilities Teach classroom lessons on traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations. Provide hands-on commercial driving instruction in vehicles with manual transmissions and air brakes. Coach students in truck driving, tractor-trailer operation, tanker driving, and bus driving, as applicable to the training program. Observe student performance, give clear feedback, and reinforce safe vehicle handling and decision-making. Track student progress and communicate areas for improvement. Skills Commercial driving experience; commercial truck driving or truck driving experience is relevant. Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and FMCSA regulations. Ability to teach commercial driving skills clearly and patiently to adult learners. Classroom teaching, teaching, or classroom experience is preferred but not required.
