Local CDL Driver - Class A

POSITION OVERIVEW Dwyer Marble & Stone is seeking a customer-focused, experienced CDL A Driver. This role is responsible for driving multiple truck types, including straight trucks and tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate has strong customer service skills, is organized, efficient, and safe with a clean driving record. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Local Deliveries: Make local deliveries or run transfers between branches 4-5 days per week in which you are home each night. Interstate Deliveries: Make interstate deliveries, primarily 1 day per week (IN, IL, WI primarily). On overnight/multi day hauls, you will be provided a hotel room and food per diem. Average of 1 overnight per week, typically on Tuesdays. Customer Service: Notify customers in advance and assist customers with unloads by getting up onto the truck/trailer deck to wedge slabs, attach clamp, and assist with guiding a forklift as needed. This involves direct contact with customers, and a friendly disposition is a must. Safe Driving: Conduct pre-trip inspections, maintain accurate electronic logs, and achieve high safety scores while driving a 26'+ Flatbed Truck with air brakes and tag axle or while driving a Semi-Truck with a 28' to 43' Trailer with air brakes. Material Handling: Cross trained to move granite, quartz and porcelain slabs with an overhead crane or forklift in the warehouse as needed. Move pallets with a pallet jack or forklift as needed. Safety: Adhere to all safety protocols and company procedures, including properly securing loads and maintaining a clean truck. Collaboration: Assist fellow Drivers and employees in the Warehouse with daily operations while effectively communicating with Showroom and Customer Success departments to resolve any needs for customers. WORK ENVIRONMENT Drivers make deliveries in all whether conditions including but not limited to rain, snow, and heat. Some delivery unloads occur inside while others occur outside. Requires use of safety equipment such as Safety Boots and Hard Hats. Gloves and Eye Protection are provided but not required. SCHEDULE Monday-Friday between the hours of 5am-5pm. Start time may vary based on delivery route. Rotating Saturdays 9am-1pm, on average of 1 per month to assist with warehouse coverage. REQUIRED QUALIFICATOINS Active CDL A Commercial Driver’s License with clean driving record Active DOT Medical Card 5+ years CDL driving experience Friendly, confident, and customer focused Dependable with the desire to work Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 50 lbs.
