Responsibilities Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers, within local routes Use GPS navigation systems to plan and follow optimized delivery routes, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries. Load and unload freight efficiently, handling logistics cargo with proper manual handling techniques while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. Transport hazardous materials or dangerous goods in accordance with Hazardous Materials Regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines. Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with FMCSA regulations. Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any mechanical issues promptly. Load and unload cargo using appropriate truck loading techniques, ensuring secure transportation of freight such as automobile transportation or other specialty loads. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any route or cargo issues promptly. Qualifications Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated (e.g., Hazmat endorsement if applicable). Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including delivery driving and route driving within local areas. Familiarity with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or other specialized transport equipment. Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, Hazardous Materials Regulations, and safety protocols related to truck driving. Ability to handle manual transmission trucks and perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations. Strong navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for route planning and real-time adjustments. Excellent driving record with a focus on safety compliance and hazard awareness. Physical ability to load/unload freight repeatedly throughout shifts; capable of meeting the physical demands of trucking logistics cargo handling.
