Loader/Unloader

Position Summary Colven Express Cargo Corp. is seeking a dependable and hardworking Loader/Unloader to assist with daily cargo handling and warehouse operations. This position involves loading and unloading shipments, organizing freight, checking incoming and outgoing items, and helping ensure that cargo is handled safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will play an important role in keeping shipments moving through the distribution process while maintaining an organized work area. This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and is comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment. Training will be provided. Responsibilities Load and unload packages, boxes, and cargo from delivery vehicles and transport containers. Sort shipments according to destination, shipment type, or designated storage area. Move and position cargo within the warehouse using appropriate handling methods. Check incoming and outgoing shipments for visible damage or discrepancies. Assist with arranging freight to maximize available storage and loading space. Prepare shipments for dispatch by organizing and positioning items for pickup. Verify package labels and shipping information when handling cargo. Maintain an orderly warehouse and keep loading and unloading areas clear. Work with warehouse team members to coordinate cargo movement and daily assignments. Report damaged, missing, or incorrectly labeled shipments to the appropriate supervisor. Follow established safety guidelines and cargo-handling procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. No previous experience required; on-the-job training will be provided. Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team environment. Good attention to detail and organizational skills. Dependable, punctual, and willing to learn. Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving packages, with reasonable accommodation as needed. Ability to work in a warehouse or cargo-handling environment. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with basic warehouse, shipping, or distribution activities. Ability to organize items and prioritize assigned tasks. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing daily priorities.
