Load Planner - Hopper Division
H&M TruckingSummary: We understand that our customers need a point of contact that they can depend on. Part of the load planner’s job is to coordinate, negotiate and manage the most efficient loads to remain cost effective as a company. This candidate will communicate effectively with internal and external customers, both written and verbal. Providing visibility to management and the customer by tracking, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions is a key element of this role. The definitive goal is make the customer happy and keep our drivers safe. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Effective planning and coordination of freight for our customers. Ability to multi-task and prioritize in time sensitive situations in a fast-paced environment Comply with instructions to ensure accuracy Understand and exceeds the customers need for on time pick up, delivery and notification to the customers Assist in dispatching OTR and regional drivers effectively, efficiently and profitably Manage requests for production, maintenance and home time Continual review of inbound/outbound freight, empty/committed truck statuses and trailer availability to maximize asset utilization. Allocation of trailers to customers and geographic areas based on Customer and Company needs Ensure data integrity is accurate Manage communication with Operation and Fleet Managers, Customer Service, Drivers and other office staff to ensure maximum customer and driver satisfaction Plan and implement processes as necessary to improve routing and equipment utilization performance. Participate in rotation of on-call duties. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to provide effective planning to maximize service and financial performance Collaborative attitude, energetic, positive, focused on details/results, determined to perform at a high level Expertise in time and distance requirements as it pertains to DOT HOS requirements Knowledge of national, regional and metropolitan geography and roadways Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and business partners in a professional and respectful manner. Excellent Customer Service skills. This position will work directly with customers, 3 PL’s and brokers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Provide detailed instructions to various personnel via email and phone Ability to develop relations with fleet managers, drivers, management and internal and external business partners H& M prides itself by being a very technology driven company so it will be important for this individual to have extensive knowledge working with Microsoft Office as well as preferred knowledge of TMW Suite Transportation software Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to work in a team orientated and fast paced office under minimal supervision.
