Load Planner / Freight Dispatcher – Office Admin

Freight Dispatcher & Load Planner – Office Admin N&D Transportation Company, Inc. – North Smithfield, RI | Full-Time, On-Site The Role We’re looking for an organized, experienced freight dispatcher who can plan loads, keep trucks moving on time, and help keep our office running smoothly. You’ll be the link between our drivers, customers and warehouse, so strong communication and attention to detail are a must. This is a first-shift position, Monday through Friday. Occasional after-hours on-call support and rotating Saturday coverage during peak seasons are required. Pay and Benefits Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience Health and dental insurance 401(k) Profit-sharing plan Paid time off and paid holidays Responsibilities Dispatch and load planning Dispatch and schedule Class A CDL drivers on local and regional LTL and truckload routes Build daily load plans, matching freight to trucks and trailers to maximize capacity and on-time delivery Track shipments in real time and solve problems quickly when delays, breakdowns or changes come up Coordinate pickups and deliveries with customers, shippers, receivers and our warehouse team Monitor driver hours of service using ELD systems, and plan routes that keep drivers compliant Compliance and safety Support DOT and FMCSA compliance: review e-logs, track driver qualification files and credentials, and follow up on inspection reports Help coordinate equipment maintenance schedules with the shop Office administration Enter orders, bills of lading, delivery receipts and driver paperwork accurately in our systems Answer phones and respond to customer and driver calls and emails professionally Prepare shipment records and support billing with accurate and timely paperwork Prepare warehouse orders and paperwork as needed Other office and operations duties as assigned Qualifications 3–5+ years of experience dispatching Class A CDL drivers, with LTL and truckload experience preferred Working knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations, including hours of service Experience with ELDs and e-logs, and with dispatch or TMS software Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), with strong typing and data entry skills Excellent phone, email and problem-solving skills, and able to stay calm and professional in a fast-paced environment Highly organized and able to handle multiple loads and priorities at once Flexible to work varying hours when the business needs it Pluses Knowledge of New England lanes and customers Warehouse or hazmat freight experience Bilingual (English and Spanish or Portuguese) To Apply Submit your resume through Indeed.
