Load Planner

Load Planner Location: Oklahoma City, OK, 73108 Position Summary The Load Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating over-the-road freight movements to maximize equipment utilization, improve driver productivity, and ensure on-time service for customers. Responsibilities and Duties Plan and optimize OTR freight movements based on customer demand, driver availability, and equipment capacity. Maximize revenue, reduce empty miles, and improve asset utilization. Coordinate load assignments and schedules with drivers, dispatch, and operations. Monitor freight movement and address service issues or delays. Balance freight while considering Hours of Service, home time, and operational priorities. Maintain accurate information in the transportation management system. Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies. Required Skills and Abilities Strong communication and organizational skills. Knowledge of transportation operations and DOT regulations. Ability to analyze information and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and transportation software. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred. Two or more years of transportation, dispatch, logistics, or load planning experience preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and talking on the phone. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
