Job Posting Load Planner | Falk Panel USA FALK Panel manufactures insulated metal panels (IMPs) for the building industry. Founded in the Netherlands in 2007, FALK launched North American operations in 2018 and opened its Walker, Michigan plant in 2020, recognized as one of the most technically advanced insulated metal panel plants in North America. With two new production lines coming to Walker, we are growing, and our logistics team is growing with us. About the Role Every panel we make has to get to a job site on time, undamaged, and on the right truck. As our Load Planner, you will own that. You will plan how panels are bundled and loaded, choose the right trailer, and book each shipment on the FALK fleet or with an outside carrier, with the goal of moving more square footage on every truck while staying legal and safe. This is a chance to help build something. FALK is bringing freight management in-house, and you will help shape the tools, systems, and procedures that make it work, including a load optimization program and a transportation management system. You will use AI-assisted tools to plan faster and make better calls, while your own judgment stays in charge. What You'll Do Plan bundle configurations by panel thickness, length, and profile to maximize square footage per shipment within legal weight and dimensional limits. Use load optimization and AI-assisted planning tools to build and compare load plans, then verify each one before release. Select the right trailer for each load: flatbed, step deck, extendable/stretch, or specialized equipment. Work with production and shipping to line up bundle builds and load sequencing with production schedules and customer delivery dates. Flag shipments that need oversize/overlength permits, escorts, or special routing. Book outsourced loads with brokers and carriers, negotiate rates, and confirm equipment. Schedule the FALK fleet, including driver assignments, pickup times, and delivery appointments. Maintain bills of lading, load diagrams, and packing lists. Communicate delays, damages, and service issues quickly and see them through to resolution. Track square footage loaded, trailer utilization, and cost per square foot shipped, and turn that data into improvements. Help roll out our load optimization tool and TMS, and write the SOPs and carrier onboarding process that go with them. Who You Are At least 2 years of load planning experience, ideally in manufacturing or building products. You know flatbed and specialized trailers, legal weight and dimensional limits, and oversize/overlength permitting. You have booked freight with brokers and carriers and can negotiate a fair rate. You think in three dimensions and catch the details that keep a load safe and a shipment accurate. You are strong in Excel and pick up new software quickly. TMS or load planning software experience is a plus. You are comfortable using AI tools for analysis, writing, and research, and you check the output before you act on it. This is a plus, not a requirement. You communicate clearly with production, drivers, carriers, and customers, especially when plans change. You stay organized across many shipments and shifting priorities. You want to help build a department, not just run one. Why Falk Panel USA At FALK, you will not be handed a finished playbook. You will help write it. We value people who look for a better way to do the work, use new tools to get there, and take pride in delivering for our customers and installers. If that sounds like you, we want to hear from you.
