Facility: Mercy Hospital of Buffalo Shift: Shift 1 Status: Part Time w/Benefits FTE: 0.600000 Bargaining Unit: CWA Local 1133 Exempt from Overtime: Exempt: No Work Schedule: Days with Weekend and Holiday Rotation Hours: 6:00am to 2:00pm Summary: The Linen Room Technician is responsible for assuring an adequate quantity of linen is maintained throughout the hospital by restocking and delivering clean linen to all parts of the hospital. Responsibilities: EDUCATION High School diploma or GED EXPERIENCE Experience in hospital linen procedures preferred Hospital cleaning/linen procedures experience preferred KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY Must possess good communication skills both written and verbal and able to understand and accurately follow instructions Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with vendors and staff Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy Must be able to work well with others Must be cooperative and dependable WORKING CONDITIONS ENVIRONMENT Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions Intermittent exposure to a few unpleasant physical conditions PHYSICAL EFFORT Ability to stand and walk for an extended period of time Ability to push/pull lift and carry Ability to bend occasional, with infrequent need to squat
