team as a Linehaul Driver, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality products safely and efficiently from our warehouse to various customer locations, following specified routes and customer invoices.
Responsibilities
• Safely transport products to customer locations in a timely manner, loading and unloading according to customer specifications.
• Complete all necessary paperwork adhering to company and governmental standards, ensuring accuracy in logs and invoices.
• Maintain compliance with food safety protocols such as temperature control during transport.
• Follow safety guidelines at all times and report any unsafe conditions to management immediately.
• Safely operate and maintain all assigned equipment, including protective gear and loading tools.
• Build strong customer relationships through excellent service and clear communication.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding route deviations, loading issues, and customer concerns.
• Adhere to your schedule and be prepared to work outside of regular hours to meet customer demands.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent is preferred, along with 1 year of tractor-trailer driving experience.
• Completion of a tractor-trailer driving school is accepted in place of or in addition to a high school diploma.
Certifications and/or Technical Requirements
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License is required. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Hazmat guidelines, and safe handling practices.
• Proficient in long-distance driving across various terrains and weather conditions while delivering customer service.
• Ability to maintain alertness and awareness of surroundings while driving day or night.
• Capability to meet established productivity levels and operate different types of trucks effectively.
• Must be able to communicate in English proficiently to engage with the public and read traffic signs.
• Basic math skills for managing delivery details.
Physical Demands
• Regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and perform physical activities such as lifting, pushing, or moving products weighing up to 50 pounds by hand.
• Climb in and out of the vehicle, requiring good vision capabilities.
Work Environment
Expect to work in various environmental conditions, including wet, hot, cold, and humid areas.
• May require working overnight, including weekends and holidays, to meet customer needs.
• Occasional exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, and high places.
• The noise level is typically moderate.
