Light Duty Rollback Tow Truck Driver

Job Overview We are seeking a reliable skilled and EXPERIENCED Light Duty Rollback Tow Truck Driver That lives within 10 miles from our location to join our team. This role involves operating flatbed tow trucks to assist with vehicle recoveries, transport, and roadside assistance. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent driving skills, and exceptional customer service abilities. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where safety, professionalism, and efficiency are paramount. Work Schedule is for 6 days a week from 8 am - 6pm and then nights on call as needed. You will be given 1 weekend day off per week. Pay is a base guarantee based off of a 6-day work week + commission for calls outside of regular business hours. Responsibilities Operate light-duty rollback tow trucks safely and efficiently to recover and transport vehicles. Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as flatbeds and forklifts when necessary. Conduct basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine vehicle condition. Perform minor automotive repairs or adjustments as needed, leveraging automotive repair knowledge. Manage conflict situations professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction and safety. Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including vehicle details and locations. Follow all safety protocols related to towing operations, vehicle handling, and roadside assistance. Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate services. Drivers will be responsible for keeping your truck clean, inside and out. Tow customer vehicles from breakdown locations as well as working with local, county, and state police. Employees must be able to pass a DOT physical and be in possession of a DOT medical card. Employee must have a background check and a clean MVR. Must have Florida Driver's license. Experience Prior experience with tow trucks, flatbeds, or commercial driving is preferred. Mechanical knowledge of automotive systems, including diagnostics and repairs. Experience operating manual transmissions and forklifts is advantageous. Background in automotive repair or mechanic work is a plus. Proven customer service skills with the ability to manage conflict professionally. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving requirements. Familiarity with load & unload procedures for various vehicle types is desirable. This role requires a dedicated professional committed to safety, quality service, and efficient vehicle handling.
