Licensed Plumber — Subcontract Water Treatment Installs

Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Plumber to join our team as a subcontractor specializing in residential water treatment system installations. Archstone Water serves homeowners in Pasadena, San Marino, and Altadena. We handle sales, scheduling, customer service, supply all equipment and materials,and you bring the licensed expertise to ensure high quality installations. This is a 1099 subcontract role: we send you the job, the address, and the scope of work, and you accept or pass, job by job. Your mechanical knowledge and hands on experience will be vital in delivering reliable, professional installations to our clients. Duties Pick up pre-purchased equipment from our storage location ahead of each scheduled job Install and maintain residential water treatment systems, whole home filtration, water softeners, reverse osmosis drinking water systems, and carbon filtration ensuring compliance with project specifications and local building codes Read and interpret system specs and installation instructions to accurately complete each install Operate hand tools, power tools, and standard plumbing equipment safely and efficiently Connect systems to existing residential plumbing, including copper and PEX lines, per local code Take before and after photos of every completed job and obtain customer sign off confirming the system is working correctly Ensure all work meets local building codes and safety standards while maintaining high quality workmanship Communicate directly and professionally with homeowners during the install, and coordinate scheduling with us in advance Skills Active California C-36 or C-55 license in good standing Proven experience with water softener and/or reverse osmosis installations, not just general plumbing Strong mechanical knowledge of water systems, plumbing components, and basic system troubleshooting Skilled in pipe fitting, soldering/sweating copper, and reading system specs Current general liability insurance (certificate required before first job) Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain the system clearly to homeowners Reliable transportation and your own standard plumbing tools Pay $400–$800 per job depending on system complexity: Under-sink RO only: $350–$450 Whole-home carbon filter: $400–$500 Water softener (standard): $500–$650 Softener + carbon + RO combo: $600–$800 Full premium system install: $750–$900 Paid within 5 business days of customer payment clearing.
