LEATHER WORKING ASSISTANT
The Leather Lady, LLCWe have 2 positions open 1. Full time Assistant/Assistant Manager - 25-40 hours. This candidate must display the desire to want a career in leather, grow into management and run their own store in the future. There is a 3 month probationary period which may lead into a permanant position 2. Part time: varies, it could be 15-30 hours based on work load, skills, and availability. This is a 3 month probationary period which may lead into a permanent position. Job Summary We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Trainee to join our Leather Artisan team. This paid position that offers a hands-on opportunity to develop essential skills in several aspects of leather retail, repair, manufacturing, teaching, membership programs, online/in person orders, administration, advertising/marketing. As a Trainee, you will gain practical experience working with various tools, machinery, and materials while supporting ongoing projects. This role is ideal for students interested inbuilding a career in a leather business and potentially owning one of our future franchises. Duties Customer service: work with guests in their retail needs, DIY Event set up and interaction. Data Entry for daily sales and functions Assist in Marketing / Advertising: social media, online orders, online marketing/advertising, Constant contact email postings. Assist with YouTube production videos Assist with fabrication tasks using hand tools, power tools, and leather equipment to create or modify components. Participate in assembly and leather construction projects, including sewing with sewing machines and hand tools. Help with heavy lifting and material handling (Full and 1/2 hides) within the retail shop, teaching and manufacturing area. Contribute to construction-related activities such as cutting, dying, sewing, skiving, splitting, sanding, burnishing, engraving, foiling, while under supervision. Maintain safety standards by adhering to proper tool usage, wearing protective gear, and following safety protocols during all activities. Support inventory management by organizing supplies, tracking materials, and assisting with warehouse logistics. Assist in quality control processes by inspecting products and parts for quality and accuracy.
