Role Description The Lead, Technical Procurement is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami, FL, responsible for overseeing the procurement of technical goods and services that support fleet operations and maintenance. This role manages end-to-end sourcing activities, including identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring materials and equipment are delivered on time and in line with quality, cost, and safety standards. The Lead, Technical Procurement collaborates closely with supply chain, inventory, engineering, finance, and operations teams to maintain optimal stock levels and support vessel readiness. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing demand, optimizing inventory and supply strategies, managing vendor relationships, resolving procurement issues, and continuously improving processes and systems to enhance efficiency and reliability. The position also provides guidance to junior team members, supports compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and contributes to strategic initiatives to strengthen the technical supply base. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Supply Chain Management and Supply Management skills to oversee sourcing, supplier performance, and end-to-end procurement processes. Candidates should possess Inventory Management and Inventory Control skills to maintain optimal stock levels, minimize shortages, and manage technical materials effectively. Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, negotiate with suppliers, and present data-driven recommendations to stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) are a plus. Several years of experience in technical or maritime procurement, logistics, or supply chain operations, ideally within a global, complex environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with proficiency in procurement or ERP systems and intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, manage multiple priorities, and drive process improvements while maintaining compliance and cost control.
