Lead Mover & Truck Driver for a Staging company

As a Lead Mover / Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods, overseeing moving operations, and leading a team to ensure efficient and smooth deliveries. Your role will be vital in maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism across all moving and delivery tasks. Duties Operate box trucks and commercial trucks safely while adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and traffic laws. Lead moving operations by coordinating team efforts to load, unload, and organize items efficiently using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks. Drive route-specific delivery vehicles (including vans and box trucks) to transport goods to various locations while maintaining timely schedules. Load and unload cargo with proper lifting practices, ensuring safety for yourself and team members when handling heavy or bulky items. Assist with warehouse operations by managing inventory, organizing storage areas, and supporting warehouse staff with manual handling tasks. Communicate effectively with customers during delivery or moving appointments to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns professionally. Use mobile devices or GPS tools to navigate routes accurately, track deliveries, and update status reports in real-time. Supervise junior movers or delivery drivers, providing guidance on safe driving practices, manual handling procedures, and customer service standards. Experience Proven experience in warehouse operations combined with commercial driving responsibilities. Prior experience as a delivery driver or courier with knowledge of route planning and traffic regulations. Familiarity with operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or hand trucks. Strong understanding of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving vans or box trucks preferred. Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial truck driving and weight limits. Ability to perform manual transmission driving is a plus; experience with manual handling equipment is highly desirable.
