We operate a premium, private fleet of nine Setra motorcoaches, a handful of Temsa coaches, Ford cutaways, and two Greenpower electric shuttles. We are looking for an experienced diesel technician to lead our maintenance operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines advanced diagnostic skills with the judgment and organization to run a shop. Bodywork experience a plus. You’ll work in a modern indoor facility with heavy-duty coach lifts, diagnostic software, and dedicated workspace. You’ll have the independence to organize the workflow, prioritize maintenance, and help keep our fleet safe, reliable, and ready for service. Comprehensive health benefits and paid time off. What You’ll Own Perform bumper-to-bumper inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. Troubleshoot Detroit Diesel and Cummins powertrains and Allison transmissions using OEM diagnostic software and technical resources. Diagnose and repair air brakes, steering and suspension, cooling systems, multiplex electrical systems, and coach HVAC. Build and manage preventive maintenance schedules around fleet operating needs. Coordinate parts purchasing, inventory, outside repairs, and vendor relationships. Maintain accurate inspection and repair records and keep the fleet ready for applicable DOT and California Highway Patrol inspections. Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective action to improve reliability and reduce downtime. Respond to and mitigate road failures. Communicate vehicle status, repair priorities, and expected completion times to operations. What You Bring Five or more years of hands-on experience maintaining heavy-duty diesel trucks, transit buses, or motorcoaches. Strong diagnostic ability—you can work through complex problems, identify the cause, and verify the repair. Proficiency with Detroit DiagnosticLink (DDDL) , Cummins Insight, Xentry, BusDoc or comparable OEM diagnostic software. Strong working knowledge of commercial air brakes, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC systems. The ability to work independently, prioritize competing needs, and maintain clear service records. A commitment to safe repairs, thorough inspections, and professional workmanship. A Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and no air-brake restriction , or willingness to obtain the required qualifications. Preferred: Setra or other motorcoach experience, Allison transmission diagnostics, ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications, and previous fleet maintenance or shop leadership experience.
