Lead Diesel Mechanic/Trailer Technician
Kothe & AsspocatesHBI Truck Lines is seeking an experienced Lead Diesel Mechanic/Trailer Technician in Defiance, OH! We’re looking for a hands-on leader with stellar communication skills, a strong team-oriented mindset, and the ability to lead by example while working side-by-side with the crew. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM, with overtime and occasional weekend breakdown phone coverage. Pay Structure: Hourly rate + OT after 40 hours Weekly Paychecks Requirements: 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience Proven leadership skills , with experience leading a team technicians and coordinating shop workflow Experience with budgets and cost of ownership per unit understanding, our Defiance location is part of our entire shop ecosystem and requires each leader to partner with all of the other locations to maximize uptime and minimize waste. Strong diagnostic skills , including computer, engine, and electrical diagnostics Troubleshooting expertise in cranking systems, fuel systems, and air brake systems Own complete set of mechanic’s tools Valid, clean driver’s license CDL A is a plus Positive, team-first attitude with effective communication skills and a hands-on approach to leadership We’re looking for skilled professionals who take pride in keeping our operation moving.
