Position Summary
This role is critical to the success of our North American supply chain. The Lead, Buyer, MRO and CapEx is a professional who serves as the local subject-matter support for Indirect and CapEx purchases within the Procurement team. This role requires a diverse set of skills covering Indirect Procurement for spare parts and services, as well as Capital Machinery Procurement. Balancing tactical and strategic procurement is essential for this role.
What You’ll Do:
Execute and support the procurement process for moderate complexity Indirect Services and CapEx purchases. This will include compiling and preparing bid documents (RFP/RFQ) and presenting recommendations for contract award.
Apply contract management best practices to maximize value throughout the entire contract lifecycle.
Negotiate cost savings, cost avoidance, and favorable terms for assigned contracts, ensuring total cost of ownership is optimized.
Demonstrate a broad knowledge of business practices to facilitate effective interactions with Engineering, Operations, Accounts Payable, and Finance departments.
Timely and accurate execution of purchase orders for spare parts, services and capital equipment supporting North American Operations
Accountability to KPIs related to Procurement, such as cost savings, material on-time delivery %, and PR to PO cycle time.
Manage supplier deliveries and invoice discrepancies to ensure a timely procure-to-pay process.
Manage, develop, and cultivate supplier relationships to maximize long-term value and minimize business risk.
Gather, review and ensure the accuracy of all customs related data for cross border movement of indirect materials and capital equipment
Collaborate with a team of buyers to ensure rigorous customs compliance for inbound indirect materials across facilities in North America, with a critical focus on cross border customs clearance processes.
Support continuous improvements in the use of SAP and other purchasing systems and processes.
What You Need:
Post-Secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Materials Management or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
3+ years of experience in procurement, preferably supporting Indirect MRO and CapEx Procurement.
Proven experience in supplier relationship management, contract negotiation, and Contract Lifecycle Management (CRM).
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Google Applications (Gmail, sheets, docs, Gemini)
Operational proficiency in SAP, with a strong understanding of its connections to other business functions.
Experience with inventory management and purchasing systems.
Professional fluency in Spanish (written and verbal) is considered an asset.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills are required for comprehensive quote analysis and precise compliance verification.
The capability to work independently with minimal supervision for extended periods, coupled with strong time management skills to prioritize competing demands.
Effective interpersonal management skills and a collaborative, teamwork-oriented attitude are required to manage tight deadlines.
