More information is available on our website https://www.sswtechnologies.com/ Job Summary: The Onsite Lead Buyer will analyze past buying trends, price, and quality of merchandise to determine value and yield. Select, order, and authorize payment for merchandise according to contractual agreements. May conduct meetings with sales personnel and introduce new products. May negotiate contracts. Key Responsibilities: This role is key in identifying, developing, and maintaining quality suppliers of materials, components, and services at the best price, quality, availability, on-time delivery, and service. Communicate & ensure adherence to Gemtron Purchasing practices, guidelines and initiatives both internally to Operations and other internal customers and externally to Suppliers Assist in creating standard procedures, processes, and systems for standardization within the plant purchasing department Support Purchasing Manager or Director on Plant level and Regional Sourcing Strategies. Identify and implement plant-level cost savings and risk-mitigation initiatives Mentor and lead other member of the local Purchasing team in a professional, constructive and efficient manner Identify, Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers through proper communication and visits Champion Plant-level cost savings initiatives / cost-outs Contributor for site-level annual planning and savings Purchasing reporting Conduct RFQ and negotiations for Capital Expenditure projects, New Project launches as well as support for Innovations Department Plant champion for Purchasing for cross-functional projects (Sales, IT, Supply-Chain, etc.) Participate in Cross-Functional teams for Process improvements / LEAN activities Work with Purchasing Manager or Director in refining & implementing systems for Supplier identification, qualification as well as a smooth transition of program launch to the Supply Chain Planners Position Supervised or Directed: Supply Stores Buyer. Qualifications, Experience requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering or Business Management or equivalent) Minimum of 3-5 years practical knowledge and experience in Purchasing in a Manufacturing environment APICS or ISM Certification helpful Previous experience in MRP / ERP systems (SAP preferred) Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access Ability to multi-task and prioritize while working in a deadline driven environment Ability to persuade and lead with facts and data with ability to adapt to, and promote change General Requirements: Detailed and hands-on oriented.
