A Lead Bartender is responsible for maintaining the quality of the bar's offerings, assisting the taproom manager with inventory and maintenance, and ensuring a pleasant and efficient customer experience. Strong interpersonal skills and a deep knowledge of beer, mixology, and bar operations are essential for success in this role. Bar Management: Beverage Preparation: Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines. Quality Control: Ensure the quality and consistency of beverages, including taste, presentation, and proper garnishes. Inventory Management: Oversee bar inventory, track supplies, and reorder as needed to prevent shortages. Waste Management: Minimize waste by carefully measuring and pouring ingredients, recycling materials, and managing over-pouring. Pricing and Cost Control: Assist in setting drink prices and monitor costs to maintain profitability. Customer Service: Customer Engagement: Interact with customers, providing a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, and making recommendations based on their preferences. Complaint Resolution: Address customer complaints or concerns related to the bar and resolve issues promptly. Responsible Service: Ensure that all customers are of legal drinking age, and handle situations involving intoxicated or unruly patrons. Operational Duties: Bar Setup: Set up the bar area before opening, ensuring cleanliness and organization. Bar Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area during service, including glassware, utensils, and equipment. Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the condition of bar equipment, reporting any maintenance or repair needs. Cash Handling: Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain an organized cash register. Compliance: Ensure that all bartending practices adhere to alcohol-serving laws and regulations. Inventory and Ordering: Stock Replenishment: Regularly restock the bar with supplies, such as spirits, mixers, garnishes, and barware. Ordering: Assist in managing orders for bar inventory, coordinating with the bar manager or procurement team. Menu Development: Beverage Menu: Contribute to the development of the beverage menu, suggesting new cocktails and drinks based on market trends and customer preferences.
