What we offer you: Wage: $44.90 to $51.02 per hour (depending on qualifications and experience) Hours: 35 hrs/week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (may be expected to attend Council and relevant Commitee meetings which typically occur outside of regular hours Pension: Enrollment in the OMERS pension plan. The Position at a Glance: As the Law Clerk/Real Estate Coordinator , reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, you will coordinate legal files, conduct research, support real estate and development transactions, prepare legal documentation, maintain records, and facilitate the efficient delivery of legal services across the organization. The position does not provide legal advice but plays a key role in supporting legal operations and reducing reliance on external counsel for administrative and transactional work. Key Responsibilities: Maintain confidential legal files, records, correspondence, and document management systems. Monitor deadlines, litigation schedules, agreement requirements, and legal matter status. Support property acquisitions, dispositions, easements, leases, and other land transactions. Conduct title, corporate, due diligence, legal, legislative, policy, and best-practice research. Prepare closing documents and coordinate the execution, registration, and filing of legal documents. Support subdivision, site plan, development, procurement, and contract administration processes. Maintain property, agreement, contract, template, and precedent records. Prepare briefing notes, research summaries, reports, by-laws, resolutions, notices, and agreements for review. Monitor legislative changes and support policy, procedural, governance, and statutory compliance reviews. Liaise with Town departments, external counsel, and internal stakeholders. Coordinate document collection, disclosure, and file preparation for litigation and tribunal matters. Monitor external legal invoices, retainers, budgets, and related reporting. Coordinate legal information requests, corporate records, official documents, and Council documentation. Education and Training: Post Secondary Diploma in Law Clerk studies or equivalent work experience. Membership or eligibility for membership with the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario (ILCO) is an asset.
