Position Summary The Last Mile Logistics Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and monitoring daily delivery operations to ensure efficient and on-time last mile service. This role serves as the primary point of contact for Delivery Service Providers (DSPs), drivers, service center personnel, and operations management throughout the delivery process. The Dispatcher manages route execution, monitors service performance, resolves operational issues, communicates delivery updates, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer and company service expectations. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Route Dispatch & Delivery Coordination Dispatch drivers and Delivery Service Providers (DSPs) according to established schedules and operational requirements. Monitor route execution and delivery progress throughout the day. Coordinate daily delivery activities to maximize service efficiency and route performance. Ensure timely departures and adherence to service schedules. Assist with route planning adjustments due to volume fluctuations, traffic conditions, weather events, or operational disruptions. Communicate delivery assignments, schedule changes, and service updates to drivers and DSP partners. Real-Time Operations Management Monitor delivery performance and respond to operational issues as they arise. Investigate delivery exceptions, delays, failed delivery attempts, and service disruptions. Coordinate recovery plans for missed deliveries, returns, and package exceptions. Escalate operational concerns to management promptly when service levels may be impacted. Maintain ongoing communication with drivers, DSP management, warehouse personnel, and customer service teams. Driver & DSP Support Serve as the primary operational contact for drivers and DSP partners during dispatch operations. Provide support regarding loading issues, route concerns, scanner problems, and delivery exceptions. Ensure drivers follow company policies, operational procedures, and safety requirements. Verify proper dispatch documentation and route completion reporting. Assist in monitoring driver attendance, punctuality, and compliance. Service Performance Monitoring Track operational metrics and report service performance. Identify delivery trends and operational risks. Recommend and support corrective action plans to improve service execution. Assist management with operational reporting and performance analysis. Communication & Reporting Maintain accurate dispatch records, delivery logs, and operational reports. Provide status updates to management throughout the day. Document service failures, operational disruptions, and corrective actions taken. Support daily operational meetings by providing dispatch and service performance data. Safety & Compliance Promote safe operating practices for drivers and warehouse personnel. Report safety concerns, accidents, and incidents according to company procedures.
