Laboratory Specimen Receiving Educator (Full-time), Lab Specimen Receiving
Dartmouth HealthOverview Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clincis is home to the largest laboratory in NH, providing Pathology and Clinical Laboratory services to DHMC and Clinics physician practices, Dartmouth Health system member hospital as well as to independent practices and hospitals throughout NH and VT. The department is a leader in process improvement (LEAN/Six Sigma) which has led to a renovated space designed for efficiency of workflow. This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, day-shift position. Responsibilities Monitors sectional needs and resources. Ensures compliance with regulations/standards, quality control, preventive maintenance, record keeping, safety, and institutional policies. Acts as a liaison with other sections throughout the organization and affiliations to maintain standard processes for Laboratory specimens. Helps evaluate, select, hire, train, and schedule department personnel. Advises and assists Supervisor in procedural, logistical, fiscal planning, and administrative matters. Assesses operating costs and provides budget input. Assists with testing and review of supplies, equipment, and materials. Advises Supervisor on the status, preparation, maintenance, review, and revision of procedural manuals. Participates in the department’s continuing education policies and programs and shares expertise with others in the department. Participates in local, regional, and national organizations and committees to maintain and improve professional abilities and to represent D-H. Conducts or assists with process improvement projects. Serves as a resource and provides leadership for troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, training needs, and new workflow development. Implements computer “down-time” procedures. Works with sites to follow Lab specimen criteria and standardize the process. Recommends changes to management in product or supplies which improve sectional process. Identifies problems and makes decisions to resolve issues. Performs other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent with 2 years of relevant experience required. Ability to organize time and prioritize tasks required. Ability to maintain an appropriate level of productivity required. Required Licensure/Certifications None Area of Interest: Allied Health Pay Range: $18.00/Hr. - $26.35/Hr.
