Label Production Manager

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Label Production Manager will lead our Mississauga label production team. In this hands-on role, you will drive operational excellence across safety, quality, productivity, cost control and on-time performance while developing a strong, accountable production team. This is an opportunity for an experienced production leader to improve processes, strengthen controls and help the operation deliver exceptional results for our customers. What You Will Do Lead the Mississauga Label Production Team and build a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous learning. Oversee daily production operations and meetings to ensure customer expectations, production targets and quality standards are met or exceeded. Manage labour, overtime, waste and production-related expenditures within budget. Lead, mentor and develop press operators and production support staff. Oversee hiring, training, performance management, skill development and workforce planning. Manage production requirements and resources, including lead times, on-time performance, demand planning, scheduling, quality control, productivity and continuous improvement. Use the ERP system, operational data and reporting tools to identify trends and act on improvement opportunities. Partner with Customer Service and Estimating to assess new business opportunities and production feasibility. Maintain strong internal and external customer relationships and resolve escalated production or service issues. Ensure preventative maintenance programs are in place and support reliable production equipment. Maintain knowledge of emerging production methods, material options and related technology. Support Shipping/Receiving, inventory, Health and Safety, special projects and other operational requirements as needed. Provide back-up support for material handling when required. Health and Safety Leadership Maintain a safe production floor and ensure team members are trained in established safe work practices. Work with production employees, the Plant Manager, Environmental Health and Safety, Human Resources and the Joint Health and Safety Committee to implement and support health and safety policies and programs. Follow all federal, provincial and company safety requirements, including applicable SDS handling instructions. What You Bring 5+ years of experience in a production environment, with demonstrated success leading teams and delivering results. Proven ability to implement effective controls and process standards. Experience reducing cycle times, improving quality and applying continuous improvement practices. Experience managing workflow from raw material inventory through staging, production and shipping. Strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving skills. Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage multiple assignments and work independently using sound judgment. Strong communication, organization and time-management skills. Detail-oriented approach, strong work ethic, positive attitude and high integrity. Preferred Qualifications 3+ years of experience in label production or a printing environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Experience using an ERP system. Syteline experience is an asset. Physical and Work Environment Requirements Ability to stand for approximately 70% of the workday and regularly sit, reach, bend and twist. Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Certain tasks may require lifting or moving up to 70-75 pounds. Ability to perform work requiring distance vision, colour vision and focus adjustment.
