Job Overview The Lab Technician, is a regular employee in a full-time non-exempt position at In-Pipe Technology in Wood Dale, IL. This employee will be responsible for the manufacturing and quality control of microorganisms for wastewater treatment. The ideal employee will be familiar with aseptic technique, fundamental microbiology, and be able to follow standard operating procedures in a laboratory setting. Responsibilities Weighing and dispensing of material Filtration systems Inoculation of microbial cells Fermentation and harvest of biomass Responsible for in-process testing, such as: UV-Vis spectroscopy, cell counts, microbial plating on nutrient media, etc. Prepares microbial media and buffer solutions. Remove and dispose of soiled materials from the manufacturing area. Maintain a clean and organized work area. Perform quality assurance on all products such as serial dilution and colony counts. Complies with all Company policies, practices and procedures. Assist with inventory management and stock replacement. Performs other functions as required or assigned Skills Experience working in a laboratory setting. Familiarity with aseptic technique and microbiology. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
