Overview The Laboratory Assistant Lead is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory duties including receiving, processing and delivering laboratory specimens from inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and outside institutions. This is a fast-paced environment, working both as a team and independently. This role ensures regulatory compliance and procedure updates. Responsibilities Performs quality and receiving functions related to checking patient demographic information, registration, ordering, adding, and canceling tests following all safety rules and regulations. Prints and scans orders into the Laboratory information system. Labels samples and delivers specimens to testing department, loads analyzers, centrifuges and performs specimen processing, restocks inventory, maintains the organized lab space. Performs routine maintenance on laboratory equipment as needed. Performs equipment Quality Control and validations. Identifies problems and assists with planning and implementing changes for continued improvements. Runs floor to perform a variety of laboratory tests in the area of work, including organizing work assignments including travelers to ensure timely completion following established laboratory procedures. Follows up on shift communication and follow-up clip board Implements computer downtime. Assists with training including quiz preparation, MediaLab setup and ensures regulatory compliance with procedures. Provides training Gantt chart review input. Entry of occurrence with learning (OWLS) reports. Perform other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications High school graduate Strong Computer skill sets Able to complete assignment with minimal direction and adapt to rapidly changing workflows Must be able to handle multiple tasks and respond quickly to problems and issues. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, technicians, management, and subject matter experts. 3+ months Lab or related experience Required Licensure/Certifications None Area of Interest: Allied Health Pay Range: $18.73/Hr. - $29.04/Hr.
