Junior Transportation Dispatcher

JOB SUMMARY PBX Logistics Ltd. is a refrigerated transportation and warehousing company based in Surrey, BC, specializing in cross-border transportation between Canada and the United States. We are looking for a Junior Transportation Dispatcher to join our operations team. The role involves coordinating trucks and drivers, scheduling pickups and deliveries, tracking shipments, communicating with customers and drivers, coordinating with our warehouse, and working with customs brokers on cross-border shipments. Previous transportation or logistics experience is preferred, with approximately one year of experience considered an asset. DUTIES Dispatch and coordinate trucks and drivers Schedule pickups, deliveries, and appointments Track shipments and provide updates to customers Communicate with drivers regarding loads, schedules, appointments, and delivery requirements Prepare BOLs, PODs, and other transportation documentation Coordinate with customs brokers for cross-border shipments and provide required documentation Assist with LTL and FTL load planning Coordinate refrigerated and temperature-controlled shipments Coordinate with the warehouse regarding incoming and outgoing freight Perform data entry and maintain accurate shipment records Assist with invoicing Address and resolve day-to-day transportation and delivery issues REQUIREMENTS 1 year of experience in transportation, logistics, or dispatch is preferred Familiarity with TMS systems, particularly Axon and Dispatch Mate, is an asset Experience with cross-border transportation and customs processes is an asset Knowledge of refrigerated freight, LTL, and FTL operations is an asset Strong communication and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment Professional communication skills when dealing with drivers, customers, warehouse staff, and customs brokers Basic computer skills and ability to learn new systems and processes Willingness to learn, take initiative, and develop knowledge of transportation and logistics operations A valid driver's licence is not required for this position.
