Junior Site Project Engineer (Contract)
Nucentra SolutionsAbout the Role Nucentra Solutions is engaging a Junior Site Project Engineer to support the final integration of equipment we have delivered to a customer site in the Dallas area: large acoustic enclosures, SCR emission control systems and exhaust stacks. The customer's contractor performs the installation. You work alongside our Lead Site Project Engineer, keeping the records, the open items list and the flow of parts and information between the site and our Dallas plant accurate and moving, while learning how this equipment goes together on a real site. This is an early-career role for a mechanically minded engineer or technologist who wants site experience, and potentially become a permanent Project Engineer at Nucentra for the right person. What You Will Do Receiving, Records and Open Items ● Inspect received equipment against packing lists and drawings with the Lead Engineer, record damage and shortages, and photograph everything. ● Keep the open items list current every day: what is missing, damaged or non-conforming, who owns it, and when it is due. ● Maintain the technical record on site: red-lined drawings, field changes, deviation records, inspection results and as-built notes. ● Draft the daily site report for the Lead Engineer's review. Site Support and Factory Link ● Chase open items with the Dallas plant, engineering and supply chain, and move parts, tools and documents between the site and the plant when needed. ● Help the Lead Engineer check completed work against method statements and hold points, and learn the torque, sealing, alignment and fit-up requirements for each component. ● Keep drawings, method statements and procedures organized and available to the contractor's crews. ● Work within the customer's and contractor's site safety program. What We Are Looking For ● Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field, or 1 to 3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication or construction. ● Able to read mechanical and structural drawings and bills of material. ● Organized and accurate: strong Excel, clean records, good photographs, and the discipline to update a list every day. ● Comfortable on a construction site and on a shop floor, and willing to learn from a contractor's crew. ● Clear written communication for reports and open item notes. ● OSHA 10 preferred, and a valid driver's license for trips between the site and our Dallas plant. ● Available for a full-time, on-site engagement of two to three months in the Dallas area.
