zed Junior Purchasing, Inventory & Shipping Coordinator to support purchasing and help manage the daily flow of parts and shipments.
You’ll request quotes, follow up with suppliers and help ensure materials arrive when needed. You’ll also receive deliveries, count and label electronic components, enter them into inventory and put them in their assigned locations. Shipping responsibilities include preparing outgoing packages and coordinating with FedEx and other couriers.
This is a hands-on role that combines computer work with time in our receiving, inventory and production areas. Recent graduates and candidates with relevant purchasing, administrative, warehouse or shipping experience are welcome to apply.
What you’ll do
Purchasing support
• Request supplier quotes and compare pricing, availability and delivery dates.
• Prepare purchase orders for review and maintain purchasing records.
• Follow up with suppliers on outstanding orders and flag delays.
• Help check bills of materials and identify parts needed for upcoming jobs.
• Communicate material shortages and delivery updates to the production team.
Receiving and inventory
• Receive deliveries and check part numbers, quantities and condition against purchase orders and packing slips.
• Count electronic components using appropriate counting equipment and methods.
• Label parts, enter receipts into the inventory system and put materials in their assigned locations.
• Keep shelves, bins and job materials organized so parts are easy to find.
• Identify and report shortages, damaged items and receiving discrepancies.
• Track customer-supplied materials separately and maintain accurate job records.
• Perform inventory counts and help investigate discrepancies.
• Pick and prepare component kits for production jobs and return unused parts to inventory.
Shipping and courier coordination
• Pack finished products and materials securely for shipment.
• Prepare shipping labels, packing slips and courier documents.
• Book shipments and pickups with FedEx and other couriers.
• Track deliveries and follow up on delays or shipping issues.
• Assist with customs paperwork for international shipments, with guidance from the team.
• Maintain shipping records and share tracking information with the appropriate team members.
What you bring
• Strong attention to detail when checking part numbers, quantities and purchasing records.
• Good organization and the ability to manage several tasks.
• Comfortable using Excel, email and basic computer systems.
• Clear communication skills for working with suppliers, couriers and coworkers.
• A willingness to learn about electronic components and manufacturing.
• Comfortable handling packages, organizing stock and moving between desk and warehouse tasks.
• A reliable, practical approach and willingness to ask questions when something doesn’t match.
Previous experience is helpful, but we’re open to someone with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
Nice to have
• Up to two years of experience in purchasing, inventory, shipping/receiving or administration.
• Familiarity with electronics distributors, component part numbers and bills of materials.
• Experience with purchasing or inventory software.
• Familiarity with FedEx or other courier booking systems.
• Experience using barcode scanners or component counters.
• Education in supply chain, business, electronics or a related field.
