Position Summary Baker Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Production Planner to join our Supply Chain team. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals who have an interest in manufacturing, production planning, and operations management. The Junior Production Planner will support scheduling and planning activities across our Foundry, Machine Shop, Weld Shop, and Assembly departments to help ensure customer requirements are met efficiently and on time. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive on-the-job training and will work closely with experienced planners, supervisors, and production personnel to learn manufacturing processes and production planning best practices. Essential Responsibilities Assist with planning and scheduling production activities across multiple manufacturing departments. Monitor production schedules and communicate changes to supervisors and operations personnel. Track work orders and production status to support on-time delivery goals. Help coordinate workflow between Foundry, Machine Shop, Weld Shop, and Assembly operations. Review production priorities and identify potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks. Maintain accurate planning and scheduling data within Baker’s ERP, Epicor/Kinetic. Participate in daily production meetings and provide planning updates. Work with engineering, purchasing, quality, and operations teams to support production requirements. Spend time on the shop floor gathering information and developing an understanding of manufacturing processes. Assist with inventory and capacity planning activities as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production flow and scheduling. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good problem-solving and critical thinking abilities. Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic. Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Comfortable working in both an office environment and manufacturing shop floor settings. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Associate degree, technical training, or coursework related to manufacturing, operations, engineering, supply chain, or business. Previous manufacturing or operations experience. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with ERP, MRP, or production scheduling software. Experience using Excel for data tracking and analysis.
