DESCRIPTION Manufacturing Engineers are responsible for developing, improving, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production. This includes reviewing engineering drawings and specifications, coordinating outsourced manufacturing activities, obtaining and evaluating vendor quotes, and supporting material procurement. Manufacturing Engineers work closely with engineering, purchasing, production, and external vendors to ensure parts and materials meet requirements, purchase orders are processed accurately, and projects remain on schedule. They apply knowledge of manufacturing methods, materials, engineering principles, and production processes to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Process worklog parts through internal systems according to the prioritized list provided by Operations Leadership. Release completed manufacturing details and drawings to the shop floor to support production schedules. Provide daily worklog tracking updates to Operations Leadership, communicating progress and identifying potential delays. Track parts received from external suppliers and identify outsourced parts that are at risk of delaying manufacturing schedules. Assist with tracking outsourced inventory replenishment to ensure materials and components are available as needed. Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding at-risk outsourced parts, proactively communicating issues and coordinating resolutions to minimize production delays. Maintain and report parts receipt tracking updates to Operations Leadership, highlighting outstanding items that may impact manufacturing deadlines. Work closely with the Manufacturing Engineer to prioritize work-in-process (WIP) racks and align part availability with production needs. Coordinate the collection and preparation of engineering prints and drawings for outsourced manufacturing work. Obtain a minimum of three vendor quotes for outsourced parts, materials, and services. Compile and present vendor quotes to the appropriate stakeholders for review and approval. Communicate with selected vendors to confirm awarded work, prepare and issue purchase orders (POs), and monitor order progress to ensure timely completion and delivery. Assist with material procurement by identifying required materials, verifying specifications and quantities, and referencing appropriate engineering documentation and purchasing information to ensure accurate ordering.
