This is an excellent opportunity for an emerging designer with a strong technical foundation in AutoCAD and SketchUp who wants to develop into a well-rounded interior designer while working on sophisticated residential projects. The position combines technical drafting and construction documentation with interior design, sourcing, client presentations, site coordination, procurement and installation . The Opportunity Working closely with a Senior Interior Designer and an experienced design team, you will participate in projects throughout the full design lifecycle—from initial space planning and design development through construction documentation, furnishings, procurement and installation. The firm is experiencing significant growth in its luxury residential design practice, including high-end custom and speculative homes and furnishing projects throughout Palm Beach County . For someone early in their career, this position offers significant exposure and the opportunity to take on increasing design responsibility as your skills develop. Responsibilities Technical Design & Documentation Develop furniture and space plans in AutoCAD. Prepare Reflected Ceiling Plans (RCPs) and lighting plans. Produce interior elevations and sections. Develop millwork and cabinetry elevations. Prepare tile elevations and layouts. Assist with finish plans, schedules and construction details. Create and modify 3D models in SketchUp. Translate design concepts and field measurements into accurate technical drawings. Revise drawing sets throughout design development and construction. Coordinate drawings with specifications, finishes and architectural conditions. Review dimensions, notes and details for accuracy. Participate in field measurements and project site visits. Interior Design & Project Support Assist with furniture, lighting, plumbing, tile, flooring, wallcovering, artwork and accessory selections. Research products, vendors and manufacturers. Obtain samples, specifications, pricing, availability and lead times. Prepare materials for internal design reviews and client presentations. Assist with mood boards, specifications and schedules. Participate in client presentations as your experience develops. Assist with procurement and order tracking. Coordinate with vendors regarding quotes, samples, orders and deliveries. Participate in installations and punch lists. Maintain accurate and organized project documentation. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture Strong AutoCAD proficiency Strong SketchUp proficiency Understanding of residential interior design construction documents Ability to produce clean, accurate and organized drawing sets Strong understanding of dimensions, scale and spatial relationships Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and time-management skills Professional written and verbal communication Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines Ability to work independently while collaborating with a design team Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Ability to work in office Monday through Friday in Boca Raton Preferred: 1–3 years of professional interior design, interior architecture or residential drafting experience Luxury residential design experience Adobe Creative Suite or similar presentation software Rendering experience Studio Designer or similar design/procurement software Furniture procurement and purchasing experience Familiarity with residential construction and job sites Who Will Thrive in This Role?
