Junior Dispatcher / CSR Location: Fort McMurray, AB Company: Oil City Express About Us Oil City Express is a fast-paced, asset-based freight transportation company out of Fort McMurray. We specialize in time-sensitive freight and hotshot services supporting oil & gas, industrial, commercial, and retail clients at intown businesses, individuals and oil sands sites. We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Junior Dispatcher / CSR to support daily operations in a key role within our team, reporting to the Senior Dispatcher / Assistant Manager. What You’ll Be Doing Answer and manage/route incoming customer calls and emails Call hold for pickup freight customers to inform them their freight has arrived Coordinate daily freight pickups to our Edmonton dock Provide customer quotes and handle billing/invoicing Track shipments and resolve customer service issues Load/unload walk in customers at depot (some boxes may be heavy up to 50 lbs and sometimes will need to use forklift) Provide backup coverage for Senior Dispatcher and other CSR roles as needed General misc admin duties Eventually assist in planning daily loads for Fort McMurray drivers Eventually prepare driver manifests and dispatch instructions for drivers to coordinate outgoing deliveries What We’re Looking For Strong organizational and multitasking skills Someone who takes initiative to learn the job while training Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Excellent communication and problem-solving ability High attention to detail (errors can cost money in this role) Comfortable using computers, Excel, and dispatch systems Previous experience in transportation/logistics in similar roll is an asset (preferred) Ability to work half a day every second Saturday morning from 6am to 11am Forklift experience / certification What You’ll Get Competitive hourly pay (based on experience) Stable, full-time position Future potential opportunity for growth into higher-level dispatch/CSR role Hands-on training with experienced dispatch and operations staff Greenshield benefits program after 90 days (co-paid premiums) Important This is not a passive admin role.
