Junior Accountant

Company Overview The Lantrax Group of Companies is looking for a new Junior Accountant to join our growing operation in Surrey BC. Lantrax Group operates three distinct but related business lines; Lantrax Logistics Ltd. Posse Heavy Haul Ltd, and West Coast Container Ltd. We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to join our team and take primary responsibility for accounting functions within Posse Heavy Haul, while also providing accounting support across other Lantrax Group businesses. This isn't a role where you'll only own one small piece of the accounting cycle. You'll gain exposure across day-to-day accounting operations, month-end, financial reporting, cash flow, internal controls, and transactions spanning three related businesses. Just as importantly, we're thinking long term, making it a great opportunity for an Accountant who has built strong accounting fundamentals and is ready to continue developing their skills, business knowledge, and responsibilities. What You'll Be Doing Managing full-cycle accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close. Supporting billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, and payment processing. Monitoring receivables, payables, accruals, and balance sheet accounts. Assisting with monthly financial statements, financial reporting, government tax filings and remittances. Investigating discrepancies and resolving accounting issues. Supporting budgeting, cash flow monitoring, working capital management, and year-end reporting. Taking primary responsibility for assigned accounting functions within Posse Heavy Haul while cross-training and supporting Lantrax. Supporting intercompany, related-party, and shared transactions between the businesses. Maintaining accurate records and documentation to support reporting, audits, compliance, and internal controls. Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, accuracy, efficiency, and controls. Documenting processes and helping create consistent accounting practices across the businesses. What You Bring A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Approximately 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience. Strong full-cycle accounting experience, including reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting. Experience using accounting software and/or ERP systems. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to organize competing priorities and meet deadlines. Confidence working independently while knowing when to ask questions or escalate an issue. A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively with people across different areas of the business. Initiative, accountability, adaptability, and a genuine willingness to learn. Experience working across multiple companies or entities is an asset. CPA designated or working toward your CPA? That's an asset, but it's not a requirement. We're most interested in finding someone with strong accounting fundamentals, the right level of full-cycle experience, and the motivation to continue growing. BONUS POINTS if you have a background in trucking, logistics, supply chain or Trucking TMS (Truckmate or other similar software) related experience. Why Join Us?
