Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Journeyman/woman Parts Technician Manager to lead our parts department with enthusiasm and precision. This pivotal role involves overseeing the procurement, inventory management, and distribution of parts essential to our operations. You will ensure seamless supply chain processes, maintain excellent customer service standards, and foster a motivated team dedicated to operational excellence. Your expertise in dealership environments, mechanical knowledge, and supply chain management will drive efficiency and support our commitment to delivering top-tier service. Responsibilities Lead and manage the parts department, providing guidance, training, and motivation to achieve high performance levels. Oversee sourcing, purchasing, and procurement activities to ensure timely availability of parts while optimizing costs. Maintain accurate data entry within our in-house systems and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) platforms for inventory control and reporting. Coordinate demand planning and supply chain logistics to meet production schedules and customer needs effectively. Develop strong relationships with vendors, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to maximize value. Ensure compliance with safety standards related to forklift operation and other mechanical equipment used within the department. Monitor inventory levels regularly, conduct audits, and implement strategies for efficient stock management. Collaborate with manufacturing or service teams to understand parts requirements and improve sourcing strategies. Utilize mechanical knowledge to assist in troubleshooting issues related to parts or equipment as needed. Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing data trends, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing process enhancements. Qualifications Proven experience with a strong understanding of automotive or machinery parts operations. Demonstrated ability in data entry, inventory management, and using ERP systems effectively. Experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain management, and sourcing strategies. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on building lasting vendor relationships. Mechanical knowledge relevant to manufacturing or service environments; familiarity with hydraulic systems is a plus. Valid forklift certification and experience operating warehouse machinery safely. Familiarity with CMMS platforms for maintenance tracking and demand planning tools for inventory forecasting. Strong negotiation skills coupled with analytical thinking for sourcing decisions.
