CRITICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED The strongest candidates will have demonstrated experience with: Production Control in a mainframe or mid-range environment Job scheduling and batch processing CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) or a similar enterprise scheduling platform z/OS JCL TSO/ISPF Troubleshooting JCL errors and job failures Establishing job-flow dependencies Troubleshooting scheduler, batch processes, and cycle flows Escalating and documenting critical job failures and scheduling problems Responding quickly to production failures and coordinating with appropriate on-call technical staff TECHNOLOGY ENVIRONMENT The position monitors job flows running on: z/OS Mainframe | UNIX | PeopleSoft Experience with the following is highly relevant: GDGs | File-AID | IDCAMS | Mainframe Compile/Link/Bind | FTPS | Connect:Direct | IMS | UNIX | PuTTY | WinSCP | PeopleSoft Process Monitor | ClearQuest | ClearCase | MS Word | Excel WHAT YOU WILL DO You will be responsible for: Monitoring job flows through CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) Monitoring jobs running across z/OS, UNIX, and PeopleSoft Quickly identifying the general cause of job failures Contacting the appropriate on-call staff for remediation Setting up job-flow dependencies Executing and troubleshooting test flows Documenting production problems Occasionally migrating software to production and/or test environments Performing preliminary troubleshooting of schedulers, batch processes, and cycle flows EXPERIENCE TARGET The job description specifically calls for: 3–5 years of related scheduling experience with a Windows-based scheduling system 5 years escalating and documenting critical job failures and schedule problems 5 years hands-on experience executing and performing preliminary troubleshooting involving schedulers, batch processes, and cycle flows MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS One of the following: Option 1: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field + 4 years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT service management, process management, or operations. OR Option 2: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college + 8 years of satisfactory full-time experience related to IT service management, process management, or operations.
