About the Opportunity: The IT CATEGORY SPECIALIST supports the procurement team responsible for technology and data solutions by assisting with strategic sourcing, contract management, supplier relationships, spend analysis, and procurement operations. This role ensures effective sourcing and vendor management practices that contribute to cost savings, compliance, and streamlined procurement processes. Responsibilities: Contribute to category strategies across software, hardware, telecommunications, professional services, data, and IT supplier categories. Assist with sourcing events, supplier research, order management, statement of work reviews, and invoice follow-ups. Coordinate supplier selection, onboarding, administration, and relationship management for preferred IT suppliers. Monitor supplier performance, contract compliance, renewal timelines, and key metrics. Escalate supplier performance or risk issues to Category Managers and stakeholders. Analyze spend, pricing, and supplier proposals to identify savings and value improvements. Support RFPs, RFQs, renewals, and supplier negotiations including evaluation and commercial analysis. Collaborate on process improvements and generate reporting and dashboards for procurement visibility. Prepare and manage contracts, statements of work, amendments, renewals, and terminations. Maintain contract records and coordinate compliance with Legal, Finance, IT, and business units. Develop relationships with IT, business units, suppliers, and cross-functional partners to support procurement execution. Conduct stakeholder meetings professionally and perform related duties as assigned. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, IT, Finance, or related field preferred; advanced degree or procurement certification is a plus. 2-4 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, vendor management, IT category, or related field. Knowledge of IT procurement categories including software/SaaS, hardware, cloud, telecom, data, and professional services. Familiarity with legal and commercial contracting concepts such as statements of work, renewals, service levels, licensing, confidentiality, and compliance. Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills with proficiency in Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with procurement and contract systems preferred. Effective relationship management and communication skills across IT, Legal, Finance, business partners, and suppliers. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Understanding of strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, procurement policy, and preferred supplier programs.
