Position Description About Harris County and Universal Services: Harris County Universal Services is transforming the way the County does business and seeking a IT Asset Analyst to join our team. Universal Services is the enterprise IT solutions center for the departments and offices of Harris County, providing Information Technology, Public Safety and Justice Technologies, 311 Constituent Engagement Services, Fleet Services, and Records and Information Governance Services. Harris County is the third largest and most diverse county in the nation, with a population of more than 4.7 million. Harris County Commissioners Court, the County’s governing body, directs a budget of more than $4 billion providing essential services including flood control, infrastructure, healthcare, housing, and justice administration. The IT Asset Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining an accurate inventory of all IT assets within the organization. This role involves tracking hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance with licensing agreements, and supporting procurement and deployment processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a good understanding of IT infrastructure and asset management best practices. Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and update the organization’s IT asset inventory database with accurate information on hardware, software, licenses, and warranties. Monitor IT asset lifecycle, including acquisition, deployment, maintenance, and disposal. Collaborate with procurement, IT operations, and finance teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance of IT assets. Conduct regular audits and reconciliations of IT assets to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy. Track software license usage and ensure compliance with vendor agreements and corporate policies. Support IT asset-related reporting and provide insights for budget planning and cost control. Assist in the implementation and improvement of IT asset management tools and processes. Respond to internal stakeholder inquiries regarding asset status, availability, and lifecycle. Ensure proper tagging and classification of assets for easy identification and tracking. Help coordinate IT asset disposal and recycling following company and regulatory guidelines. Requirements Education: GED/High School Diploma Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams. Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and licensing concepts.
