Vios CompoundingInventory & Supply Chain Supervisor Vios Compounding Pharmacy Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Position Overview Vios Compounding Pharmacy is seeking an experienced and highly organized Inventory & Supply Chain Supervisor to oversee and strengthen our inventory control, purchasing, materials planning, replenishment, and supply-chain processes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that APIs, excipients, packaging materials, laboratory supplies, production supplies, and other essential materials are available to support pharmacy operations while maintaining appropriate inventory levels, controlling costs, reducing waste, and ensuring accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, process-driven, and comfortable building and improving inventory systems within a growing and highly regulated environment. Key Responsibilities Inventory Management & Control Manage inventory of APIs, excipients, packaging materials, laboratory supplies, production supplies, and other operational materials. Maintain accurate inventory quantities, locations, lot information, expiration dates, and inventory records. Establish and monitor minimum and maximum inventory levels, reorder points, safety stock, and replenishment thresholds. Develop and manage cycle-counting procedures and monthly physical inventory counts. Reconcile physical inventory with system records and investigate discrepancies. Identify and manage expired, damaged, obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory. Develop processes to reduce inventory loss, waste, expiration, and unnecessary purchasing. Ensure materials are properly stored, controlled, and documented. Purchasing & Replenishment Coordinate and execute purchasing for assigned inventory categories and suppliers. Monitor inventory levels and identify replenishment requirements. Track open purchase orders and outstanding material requirements. Monitor supplier pricing, availability, lead times, minimum order quantities, backorders, and supply constraints. Identify potential stockouts and supply disruptions and escalate concerns when necessary. Develop and maintain a centralized supplier database. Monitor supplier performance and identify opportunities to improve pricing, service, and replenishment practices. Coordinate with Pharmacy Operations and Quality when supplier or material changes require review or approval. Materials & Demand Planning Work with Pharmacy Operations and Production to translate prescription and production forecasts into material requirements. Forecast future API, excipient, packaging, and production-supply needs. Compare forecasted material requirements against current inventory and open purchase orders. Monitor prescription volume, product mix, and production schedules to anticipate inventory needs. Balance material availability with the need to minimize excess inventory and unnecessary costs. Production & Inventory Reconciliation Develop processes for tracking materials issued to and consumed in production. Compare expected material requirements with actual material usage. Investigate significant usage variances, waste, spoilage, and production losses. Coordinate monthly inventory reconciliation with Finance. Maintain documentation supporting inventory adjustments and write-offs. Identify root causes of recurring inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions. Systems & Process Improvement Evaluate and improve inventory, purchasing, receiving, replenishment, and materials-management processes. Ensure inventory movements, purchases, consumption, receiving, and adjustments are accurately recorded. Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency. Develop and maintain inventory and purchasing policies, procedures, and internal controls. Evaluate current inventory technology and recommend system improvements when appropriate.
